    Explain the function of DC converter (rectifier) and give FIVE (5) examples of its applications.

    Function of DC converter (rectifier) is to convert alternating current (AC),which periodically reverse direction, to direct current which flow in only one direction. This dc converter are used as stand-alone units feeding single and multiple dc loads and as input stages of ac system because of their virtually unlimited output power and fine controllability.

    Five examples of DC converter (rectifier) applications : I. II. III. IV. V. Supply polarised voltage for welding. Charging batteries. Supply DC motor. Power supply. Electromechanical processes.
