Students can create lists of terms to aid in their learning of musical concepts.

Musicards.net
Provides pre-made online music theory flashcards for students to review note names, intervals, etc.

Youtube
Provides countless videos on music performance, music theory, compositions, etc. It is an invaluable resource for music education.

Study Blue
Allows teachers or students to create flash cards. Teachers can use data collected by website to track student progress.

Wikipedia
Students can use this site to help them define, understand, and explore musical concepts.

Tumblr
Students can create a tumblr account using it to show understanding of musical concepts. Students can also engage in commentary of other students posts.

Diigo
Cloud-based service that allows users to highlight, annotate, create visual notes, and use sticky notes with online text. Texts are saved in the cloud and able to be downloaded to various mobile devices for offline use.

Online Tone Generators
Students can manipulate sound waves Demonstrating an understanding of Amplitude, Frequency, Timbre, and duration.

Google Docs
Students can engage in online hosted discussions through the use of Google Docs and Google Drive. Students can apply knowledge acquired to post relevant comments and questions.

Podomatic
Allows students to create their own podcast. Can be used for students to take knowledge acquired in class and present it to classmates or others in a unique way.

(International Music Score Library Project) This site contains 250,000+ music scores to download. Students can use these scores to study notation, scoring, theory, etc.

Youtube
Students can watch and listen to pieces of music and analyze musical elements like pitch, volume, timbre, etc.

Pandora
Students can use this free online radio to explore different musical genres than they are used to

Poll Everywhere and SMS Poll


These sites allow a teacher to create SMS polls to be taken through text messaging. They can be used for students to voice opinions about musical selections. These site do have free options, however, There would be a subscription cost for More robust use.

Smart Music
Allows students to play their instrument/ voice into a computer which will alert the student to incorrect notes, rhythms, etc.

Blogger
Student can use a Blogger page to write critique of musical concerts, performances, or recordings. Other students can comment and discuss.

Powerpoint and Google Slides


Students can use either of these two presentation software options to produce a presentation designed to comment/critique a piece of music or musical performance.
