MESSAGE: Mayor Neil B.

Credo Mayor Credo lauded the passing of the Sin Tax Bill into law since it will further strengthen the campaign for healthy lifestyle. He also shared to us how he stopped smoking immediately after he signed the No Smoking Ordinance on August 8, 2012. He said that most of the Barangay Captains are smokers and that the No Smoking Ordinance is a challenge for them to completely stop smoking. He is also a hypertensive. He told us that a politicians lifestyle is very stressful and sometimes, especially during fiestas, eating fatty foods could not be avoided. Another thing that the mayor shared is that teenagers nowadays are eating less healthier foods especially in the fast foods. He promised to further strengthen the campaign for healthy lifestyle since he believes that health is essential for living a good life. Dr. Melpha B. Yee Dr. Yee told us that she is a hypertensive and that she takes her maintenance medications everyday without fail because she is afraid she will have stroke if she misses even one day. Dr. Yee also took note of all the requirements presented during the session and said that she will be considering all of them. She said that the RHU and NOPH have signed a MOA regarding the giving of free laboratory services. Also, she said that they are aiming to enroll many more indigents into the PhilHealth Insurance system. They have had a steady growth of enrollees per year. Hon. Ruel D. Aldanese Mr. Aldanese thanked the students for conducting a very meaningful activity in their barangay. He even asked to have a group to look into Family Planning in their barangay. Mr. Aldanese said that in the results of the survey, he was skeptical about the number of respondents who said they eat fruits everyday or 3 times a day because there seldom is an availability of fruits especially after the recent Typhoon Pablo. But then he said that the people in the barangay really eat vegetables everyday and he is happy because the results will factor in their planning for health in the succeeding days.
