1) Take the retort stand and retort clamp at the back. 2) Take metre ruler, pendulum bob and stopwatch in front. 3) 2 person one set of apparatus.

Procedure
1) The apparatus was set up as shown in the diagram. 2) Measured 20.0 cm of the length of pendulum bob by using metre ruler and displaced the pendulum at the small angle. 3) Time,t1 and t2 for 10 oscillations was measured by using stop watch and the average of both readings are calculated. The period of oscillation, T is calculated using the formula T=t/10 4) Step 2 and 3 were repeated by using the length of pendulum 30.0 cm, 40.0 cm, 50.0 cm and 60.0 cm. 5) The data was tabulated in the table.
