The! pass la s and rite regulations on a huge variet! of things such as "uilding& plum"ing& natural gas& and electrical codes' regulations for education& standards for licencing doctors& nurses& la !ers& etc. Clothing sold in Canada has to meet certain standards& food is inspected& etc. - Governments help to provide the (social safet! net) - pa!ments of mone! that help people to maintain a decent standard of living. This can "e in the form of universal programs such as *amil! +llo ance or the Old +ge ,ension& or target specific groups such as -mplo!ment .nsurance or Welfare for those ho are out of ork. - Governments provide services. .n Canada these can include - hospitals& schools& roads& air traffic control& ater& gar"age disposal& po er generation& se ers& arenas& parks& etc. These are often (not for profit) and might not "e performed "! the private sector since there is little mone! to "e made in them.
