Truelift reduces the risk to your financial investment by identifying, encouraging, and rewarding microfinance institutions that conduct themselves in a responsible way. Milestone MFIs have reduced risk of liability and exposure to lawsuits, local government political action, and organized protests.

What Does Truelift Endorsement Cost Your Investment Fund?

Truelift works in partnership with the Smart Campaign, Social Performance Task Force and CERISE allowing for Truelift Assessment to be easily and holistically incorporated into social performance auditing tools. Inclusion or endorsement of Truelift Assessment is at no cost to investment funds.

Truelift applies USSPM Dimension 1 to a specific target group in Pro-Poor Principle 1: Purposeful Outreach to People Living in Poverty.

Truelift looks at an MFI's Board and Staff commitment to creating positive and enduring change for poor people.

Truelift Assessment is fully compliant with the efforts of Smart Campaign and Dimension 3 of the USSPM. Truelift will help MFIs improve service while complying with the requirements of the Code of Conduct.

Truelift applies USSPM Dimension 4 to a specific target group in Pro-Poor Principle 2: Services that Meet the Needs of People Living in Poverty.

Truelift believes that financial and social performance need not be at odds; rather it's a matter of prioritization. We are seeking models that pursue both.
