DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF PRESS TOOL MACHINE

SYNOPSIS
Press tools are commonly used in hydraulic and mechanical presses to produce components at a high productivity rate. Generally press tools are categorized by the types of operation performed using the tool, such as blanking, piercing, bending, forming, forging, trimming etc. The press tool will also be speciopified as blanking tool, piercing tool, bending tool etc

INTRODUCTION
In 1911, the inventor Gardner T. ames of !alamazoo, "ichigan filed for a patent on a new type of arbor press, but was unable to secure funding for production. ames partnered with #erbert #. verard to create the G.T. Eames Company, under the agreement that the rights to the patent were to be shared between both men. The company started producing the press under the $ ames %resses$ brand with some success. In 191&, verard died, leaving his controlling share of the firm to his daughter and her husband, 'ohn %enniman. ames eventually became disillusioned with the %enniman(s handling of the company and sold his shares to them for )*,+++. %enniman subse, uently moved the company to another location in !alamazoo, renaming it to Atlas Press Company. ames opened a machine shop and continued to build and sell presses under the old trademark, which eventually led to conflict between the two parties, both of whom claimed e-clusivity over the patent, as well as additional improvements made by ames. #istorically, metal was shaped by hand using a hammer. .ater, larger hammers were constructed to press more metal at once, or to press thicker materials. /ften a smith

would employ a helper or apprentice to swing the sledgehammer while the smith concentrated on positioning the work piece. 0dding windmill or steam power yielded still larger hammers such as steam hammers. "ost modern machine presses use a combination of electric motors and hydraulics to achieve the necessary pressure. 0long with the evolution of presses came the evolution of the dies used within them.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
0 mechanism is a device designed to transform input forces and movement into a desired set of output forces and movement. "echanisms generally consist of moving components such as gears and gear trains, belt and chain drives, cam crank shaft and follower mechanisms, and linkages as well as friction devices such as brakes and clutches, and structural components such as the frame, fasteners, bearings, springs, lubricants and seals, as well as a variety of specialized machine elements such as splines, pins and keys. 0 tool press mechaine is a device for evenly punching the press tool onto a press medium 1substrate2 such as tool and metal. The device applies pressure to a press medium that rests on an inked surface made of crank shaft mechanism connected through the connecting rod mechanism, thereby transferring the link and gear mechanism. Typically used for metal, the invention and spread of the tool press are widely regarded as among the most influential events in the second millennium revolutionizing the way people conceive and describe the world they live in.
