    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

    Project Sahyog is an initiative started by DURGADEVI SARAF INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES.It is a social initiative which enables the students to evaluate situations from a socially sensitised perspective in the society.This project involves undertaking various activities in the NGOs,Trusts which work for social causes and Corporate CSR departments related to their social initiatives. The students were divided into various groups and were allotted different NGOs and trusts in which they had to contribute to the causes taken up by the respective institutions. Group 6 which consists of 8 students worked with two Trusts namely,PROJECT CRAYONS and ASMITA-TRAINING AND REHABILITATION CENTRE. PROJECT CRAYONS INDIA is a Non-governmental Organization(NGO) working to empower marginalized communities through Health, Education and Rights.Their vision is to create support structures that would help provide tools like education, shelter, food and hope for the less fortunate children and communities. The Group worked at their shelter home UDAAN GHAR in Mumbai which works for the upliftment of children who are marginalized because of poverty, disability or gender.The group interacted with the children and conducted sessions to teach them and various other activities. ASMITA-TRAINING AND REHABILITATION CENTRE has been working for the welfare of physically challenged people by training them to discover their skills and capabilities.They provide them with training in area of handicrafts,stitching,gardening and vocational training. The Group conducted a survey in the nearby localities to discover and enlighten the people about these initiatives so that more people who are physically disabled can benefit from the NGO and create a living for themselves. Also,the Group helped in the paint work of the Ngo wall and volunteered in the annual cultural event of the NGO.

    Project Sahyog aims at creating socially conscious and responsible managers and these NGOs and Trusts helped in providing the platform for the Group to realise their responsibilites towards the society.
