Struggle can be defined as make forceful of violent efforts to get free of restraint or constriction.

Some may declares that struggle is positive. It helps people work hard and it proves that you have to work hard to get some things. Others assume that struggle is bad. Much investigating has been done on this topic. This essay will argue that regardless of what some have confidence that struggle is multidimensional and has implications that can have an harm on us. Struggle is multidimensional. We see this in, Breaking Through. For example, one of many struggles Panchito experiences is being undocumented. The outcomes of Panchitos struggles is being fear and deportation. As I got older, my fear of being deported grew. (Jimenez, 4). Some examples from the text that give evidence of this situation are not being able to go to school anymore. Another example is not having enough money to live off of. Finally, Panchito and his family cannot afford to get a visa. Struggle in general is multidimensional but we can see why in Breaking Through. Along the lines of struggle, being multidimensional we can also examine its implications. Once again using Breaking Through Panchito struggles with poverty. Poverty affects Panchitos education, living conditions, health, and treatment. There are examples from the book that exhibits the implications of poverty. One of those examples is Panchito has to miss months of school to provide money for the family. This is showing that poverty is affecting Panchito because he has to miss school to work and raise money to the family. Poverty affects Panchitos living conditions because he is forced to live in a hotel instead of a stable household. Poverty doesnt

only affect Panchito though, it also affects the rest of his family such as his father. His father cant afford to work because he has a hurt back. This proves that poverty can affect the health of people. Lastly, poverty affects Panchitos health and treatment because when he went to the doctors to get checked, the nurse thought of him as a dirty Mexican due to his ringworm. As we can see in this paragraph that poverty is affecting Panchitos familys health, living conditions, education and treatment. In addition to Breaking Through the implications of poverty are also found in media and various sources. Poverty affects childrens health. Children in poverty have a much higher rate of accidents than do other children, and they are twice as likely to have impaired vision and hearing, iron deficiency anemia, and higher than normal levels of lead in the blood, which can impair brain function. This research means that they dont have the resources to prevent this they are more likely to have these problems. Additionally, Poverty creates ill-health because it forces people to live in environments that make them sick, without decent shelter, clean water or adequate sanitation, worldhealthorganization.com. Research also shows, Infectious and neglected tropical diseases weaken and even kill a lot, like millions of the most vulnerable and poorest people each year. To tie things up, Poverty affects health because it can cause health problems such as mental and stress issues. These examples show how poverty affects health due to sicknesses and illnesses. Education is affected by poverty also found in other sources. An example to show this is, We must invest in high quality education for every child. This means

that we have to educate all children not just specific children. Childrens Defense Fund. Research shows that, An explosive growth in student poverty suggest, though, that we have misidentified the problem. This proves that education is affected by poverty because they used money for other things they dont need, instead of collage. Also because of the poor having more untreated ear infections and hearing loss issues (Menyu, 1980); greater exposure to lead (Sargent et al., 1995); and a higher incidence of asthma (Gottlieb, Beiser, & OConnor, 1995) than middle-class children. Each of these health-related factors can affect attention, reasoning, learning, and memory. This shows how poverty is affecting education because they cant afford to get the right treatment to get their illnesses fixed so if they are deaf they cant fix it and then they cant hear. Poverty doesnt only affect education and health it also affects living conditions. Poverty and low incomes prevent people from accessing potential housing options, and make others hard to sustain. (Dementia-friendly Yorkshire) This shows how poverty affects poverty affects living conditions because they cant get enough money to afford a house. Financial aid is the main cause of living conditions. (The Linking between housing and Poverty) This proves that money is the cause of not having a stable household and poverty affects the money issues. Treatment is also affected by poverty. African American men working full time earn 72 percent of the average earnings of comparable Caucasian men and 85 percent of the earnings of Caucasian women. This research shows racism to the African American. (Wikipedia.org) Research also shows that, Its easy to pour scorn

on someone, and they claim they only have themselves to blame if youve never been there yourself-most of us do it to some group in society at some point in our lives. This proves that treatment is effected by poverty because pouring scorn on someone is like treating them with no respect. In conclusion this essay has shown that struggle can be defined as make forceful of violent efforts to get free of restraint or constriction. Some may argue that poverty is good for you. It can make you a stronger person and learn to work for what you want. This can be true to some people but I believe that struggle isnt all that good. To me, it is miserable because of it affections in living conditions, health, education and treatment. In addition to poverty, racism also has found its way into struggle. It also has a negative implication because of being as damaging as poverty. Racism is the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, exp. so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. It is just like saying you dont like a certain race. We can see that racism is in the book, Breaking Through. Such as Panchito being told he doesnt know rock & roll because hes Mexican. He was also called names because he took taquitos to school for lunch. He was also told by his counserler that the school has wood shop and future farming classes. This shows that because hes Mexican, he is treated differently. The most racist thing in this book is Panchito, his family got caught so they had to go back to Mexico and get documents just to come back to California.

You may have heard of the great Jackie Robinson, the first African American who played in baseball. He played for the dodgers with his number 42. Well did you hear about the struggles he went through just to be on a baseball team or even to go to the bathroom. He couldnt even go into a store because he was colored. In the movie, 42, the whites and the blacks were separated and the colored were treated with no respect. It doesnt only happen in the movie, though. Today segregation still happens! In the movie Jackie and his wife went into a store. On the restroom door, there was a sign that stated, WHITES ONLY. The same sign was placed at a gas station store. Jackie tried to go in but before he could, the person that was filling his car up told him, You know you cant go in there. Jackie Robinson got angry and left without filling his car up. The colored were treated with no respect. They were bullied such as name calling and physical contact. When Jackie Robinson tried to play baseball the crowd would yell things like nigger or go back to where you came from black nigger. When he was in the field the players would tell him that baseball is only for whites boys and you dont belong here. When he was up to bat, the pitcher would always try to hit number 42 in the face with the ball. Once he was on a base and a player form the oppisite team spiked him. Jackie tried so hard to be calm because he told that he was told to control it. He was told that because they thought he couldnt handle being the only colored baseball player. One day he couldnt take it anymore and ended splitting his baseball bat in half. I believe that this is stupid. Treating someone with no respect just because they have a different skin color. Just because we look different doesnt mean that we dont have to be treated equally. I believe Jackie Robinson did a great accomplishment and hes

courageous, strong, and brave. He broke through the struggles of being the first African American to play baseball. Jackie Robinson showed us that you should follow you dreams. If you want to be the first female football player in the nfls, then go for it. Jackie Robinson isnt the only one who goes through racism. I have also experienced it. At school I feel like I dont fit in because I am like 1 of 10 people who are white out of this school. I feel like that because I dont understand what people say when they speak Spanish. Also, in drama we do plays and skits involving Spanish speaking and when I perform I am always afraid to be made fun of because I am not the best Spanish speaking person. I know we were supposed to pick a story about a family member that has experienced racism, but I believe my story should be heard. In contrast to all I have shared, Kelly Mcfonial, provides an apposing perspective. Stress (struggle) is your friend. Believing struggle is bad for your health can kill more people than skin cancer in a year. Kelly Mcfonial wants stress (struggle) is helpful because it gives us access to our heart. This evidence about why stress (struggle) should be your best friend maybe true but I believe that struggle and stressing is not good and it shouldnt be your best friend. It causes health issues. How can struggle help your health if it harms it? It causes mental health issues, heart attacks, and raise stress levels to cause uncontrollable situations. Those situations include finical status, illness, lack of sleep, work over load and social isolation. Its also causes obesity, expecially in the U.S. Kelly Mcfonial may say that

stress should be your best friend because it helps your health but it shouldnt because it causes health issues. This essay argued that regardless of what some have confidence that struggle is multidimensional and has implications that can have an harm on us. We saw it in the book, Breaking Through. We saw that Panchito was struggling with education, health, treatment and living conditions. Poverty affects Panchitos living conditions because he is forced to live in a hotel instead of a stable household. Panchito has to miss months of school to provide money for the family, which shows that this is effecting his education because he has to stay at home to help with the money issues with his family. Poverty affects Panchitos health and treatment because when he went to the doctors to get checked, the nurse thought of him as a dirty Mexican due to his ringworm.
