Physical Development Infancy& Toddlerhood 6 weeks 8 months they are able to hold their own head most of the time. They are able to rollover, sit alone, crawl and pull up to stand. 9 Weeks 25 months they are able to walk on their own, jumping in place, use their hands to build and they start to pull them self up.

Language Development At this stage they usually start to babble more often. (Infancy) Between ages 4 months and 10 months, they start to pronounce more speech like syllables (psychology.jrank.com). (Infancy) Nine and Fifteen months they begin to say their first words. They also make sounds to get the adults attention. (toddlerhood) They begin to name curtain items such as foods, pets, animals and family members (toddlerhood).

Cognitive Development From the ages of 0-2 year olds children learn by looking, hearing, touching, grasping and sucking (cliffsnotes.com). At the age of 18 month old to 24 months children begin to use their representational thoughts; they begin to recognize symbols as objects (cliffsnotes.com). Atypical development At this stage the signals would be the changes in children behavior. Their behavior may begin to be unusual or different then the children that are their age. Not being able to imitate others. Unaware of changes that surrounds them.

Social They become more aware of their surroundings. When it comes to influencing a childs development it really depends on the type of social in teraction they are involved in. At this stage it is very important for children to experience a positive social environment. It is also important that they interact with children their age.

Cultural Influence It is very important for all children to be surrounded by a positive culture and environment. When they are surrounded by a positive environment, their development will be successful.

Positive Development Parents need to make sure that they are active in their children learning and development process. Provide a positive and great learning environment for the children, which will help with the process of their developmental process.
