Such as a wish or a desire, determination, a verb for explaining the future, lust, or just short for William. Since Will has so many uses, it is difficult to figure out when each type is used. The Will referring to William Shakespeare is found in the last sentence. And then thou lov'st me for my name is 'Will. Meaning You will then love me because my name is Will.. (Point it out!) The use of assonance allows the sonnet to refer back to the theme. Define the lit element/poetic device and explain how your example fits this description Assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds followed by different consonants. Will, will fulfil the treasure of thy love, Notice the -ill sound after Will, will, and fulfil. Explain the element or devices impact on this specific sonnet Adding assonance to anything will make that sentence stand out for sure. Here, the first Will might be referring to William Shakespeare. It also might be referring to another meaning of Will that I am not familiar with. Still, this quote refers to the narrators love life, and to the theme. It sounds as if the narrator is trying to persuade this person to agree to loving the narrator, referring to the theme. Conclusion Restate your thesis Allusion and assonance were used by William Shakespeare to prove that unrequited love sends everyone into desperation. Discuss the theme and the final couplet. Just love my name and love it always, and then youll love me, because my name is Will. Is the translation of the final couplet. Going along with the theme, this couplet sounds as if the narrator is concluding a speech of his own, possibly a persuasive speech. Make any final comments about the poem. Thank your audience. This sonnet has many hidden meanings behind its words. They are all very inappropriate also. Thank you for your time.
