IntheVesuviusEruptingatNightpainting,thesceneisofadramaticexplosionofa volcano.Itappearsthatavolcanohaseruptedsuddenlyandthepeopleintheshipwatchin awe.Thecolorsofthepaintinggofromwarmtocool.Thewarmercolorsareorange,red andyellowwhichispredominantlythevolcanoexploding.Thecoolercolorsarenavy,off white,andgray.Althoughthemajorityofthepaintingisdark.Thefeelingyougetwhen lookingatthispaintingisthreateningbutamazingatthesametimesublimeeffect.This paintingdepictsnaturesstrengthandunexpectedness.Itshowshowpowerlesshuman reallyareastheycan'tdoanythingtoprotectthemselvesfromtheexplosionsotheyjust watchinamazement.
