DITC of SRM Function Block

DITC or direct instantaneous torque control mainly concerns controlling the switching states of the converter.

The first step is to analyse the output of the position sensor and detect the incoming and the outgoing phase of the rotor with respect to the stator. The next step is to analyse the rotor position and the error that was received from comparing the reference torque with the torque estimated from the look-up tables and generate the corresponding switching signals that will change the operating state of the converter. The operating state of the converter changes between +1,0,-1 which is decided by the matlab function.

The matlab function needs to identify the per phase torque error and then change the states of the converter of that phase to reduce the torque error. This way the torque ripple is reduced instantaneously.

This figure shows the block diagram of DITC. In this block diagram the direct torque controller block determines the switching signals for each phase. In the matlab simulation we are required to be able to show a positive reduction in torque ripple by DITC method. We dont need to generate the matlab function blocks as shown in the paper, we just need to generate the switching signals corresponding to the torque error as explained in the DITC method and the IEEE papers.
