Professionalism Part 2 Samuel Levinson Journals for Professionalism 1.

American Educator Professional journal of the American Federation of Teachers I find that this publication, American Educator Professional journal of the American Federation of Teachers, seems to focus on teachers and their methods of teaching, including areas where they may improve. rom my understanding, this !ournal has a focus on education ranging from "#12 and also higher education. It is a union of professional wor$ers that see$ to provide fairness in education, democracy, and future !ob opportunities. It is also interested in the education and well#being of students. I thin$ it is organi%ed by teachers, for teachers. &ith engagement of the community, this organi%ation plans to advance their plans for education. I thin$ that a part of their organi%ation does include the !ournal, as mentioned here. In order to !oin the organi%ation, one must already wor$ in the education field. 'here are other fields of (ualification, as I thin$ they will also accept those who wor$ in health care and the government. 'hey also wish for their members to !oin a local ) ' and with a basic or advanced membership, I believe that one may have some influence in this organi%ation. rom my understanding, the !ournals are online for those see$ing teaching information to read. )n e*ample of one of their !ournals showcases ways for teachers to improve in wor$shops. 'he article Measured Approach or Magical Elixir? How To Tell Good cience From !ad investigates these issues.

2. "ournal of Teaching Education 'he second !ournal that I have selected to loo$ into, is that of the "ournal of Teaching

Education. It is described as a leading !ournal with a primary focus on teacher education and that it is always relevant loo$ing into current topics of the 21st century. 'he fields included for this !ournal include cognitive science, teacher education, and critical teaching. In addition to this, the !ournal tries to prepare teachers for teaching in many different learning situations, including urban areas, and the organi%ation also see$s to help teachers in the recruitment of other teachers and placing them in the roles of leadership. 'here are online articles and also print copies, as well as pod casts for those who wish to listen to information. or an e*ample of an article, I found published online a !ournal article titled #arrati$es of %earning to Teach& Ta'ing on Professional (dentities) 'o summari%e the article, it e*plains to readers that some teachers have a university approach while others have an alternative certificate. 'his shows us how teachers of different fields construct their own professional identifies. +ther related topics to this article include programs that help prepare teachers for education. I thin$ that this website is beneficial in that it has many !ournals available that may assist in coming to a conclusion on various education topics.
