WHAT IS A HEALTHCARE SOCIAL WORKER?


Social workers are people that help others cope with everyday problems in their live. Provide individuals, families, and groups with the psychosocial support needed to cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses. Services include advising family care givers, providing patient education and counseling, and making referrals for other services. May also provide care and case management or interventions designed to promote health, prevent disease, and address barriers to access to healthcare.

WHY DO I WANT TO DO THIS?


My whole life, I knew I wanted to help others. Almost every female in my family works in the medical field. In a way, I can help change the world and show others that theres more to life than just violence and holding grudges.
