ICT Integration Project Planning: Joint Statement

The ICT integration project is broken up into three assessment parts which results in the final completion of a major learning and teaching resource this being our Weebly. The overall objective for the project is to create the Weebly website which highlights four lessons which utilise ICT effectively in the classroom. Assessment three is getting us to think about how we can effectively incorporate different forms of ICT to create student centred, inquiry orientated lessons that students are engaged in. Our planning includes us creating a forward planning document making sure that our lessons directly link to the Geography objectives stated in the Australian Curriculum. Our four lessons directly link and are based upon the following Geographical knowledge and understanding objective and its elaborations; Geographical Knowledge and Understanding: The representation of Australia as states and territories, and Australias major natural and human features. (ACHGK014 ) - Elaboration: Using geographical tools, for example, a globe, wall map or digital application such as Google Earth, to locate and name the states, territories, major cities and regional centres in their own state. - Elaboration: Identifying and describing the major natural features of Australia, for example, rivers, deserts, rainforests, the Great Dividing Range and the Great Barrier Reef.

While there is other curriculum links in our forward planning document this link is what we have directly based our year three Geography lessons on. Within the rest of the project planning we have justified our chosen forms of ICT that we have incorporated into our lessons and discussed how our project is underpinned by established learning theories. Assessment four sees us taking one of our lessons from the forward planning document and presenting it to the class to show how we have effectively utilised Google Maps. The presentation shows that the students use the ICT to locate and label the different states,
territories and major cities on a map.

Finally assessment five includes us creating our Website using Weebly. The website will be called This is my Australia and will consist of an introduction, task, lessons 1-4, evaluation, conclusions and a teaching page. The integration Project is allowing us as students teachers to experiment with ideas about how we can incorporate technology into our classroom so that it is used effectively.

It is about getting us thinking about ways in which we can utilise and alter different types of technology to suit the needs of our individual classroom, catering for different learning styles and multiple intelligences. The ICT integration project helps us feel more confident in using technology in our classrooms and shows us how we can create a helpful learning and teaching resource incorporating a wide range of ICT.
