Cross-panel mentorship of Eco-Schools and Environmental Club Through repeated visits, my grade 11 Environmental Leadership course mentored the W. Sherwood Fox Green Team with regards to school ground greening, conducting a waste audit, installing nest boxes, and a day of Biodiversity Games developed by the grade 11 students as well as a joint Community Rain Barrel fundraiser. The grade 11s pulled themes from the elementary curriculum to develop activities for Kindergarten, grades 4 and 6 classes.

From Jane Hysen, Green Team Leader at W Sherwood Fox. We

have had so many green gifts from you and your grade 11s. The green cone, the nest boxes, the gardens you helped us plant, teaching us how to do a waste audit and the biodiversity games.

The Waste Audit Task Force and the Science Clean-up initiatives are two system-level projects which have further refined my skills of managing data and distilling information for my colleagues. Through these initiatives I have built a culture of collaboration by taking into consideration the needs of all stakeholders, the facility layout, the requirements for a successful procedural development and the framework of the initiative. The experience gained through involvement in these two projects has prepared me to assist in facilitating the implementation of the pending Art and Family Studies clean-ups, and has also further developed skills which are transferable to any new initiative.
