Written Communications: I took these two courses because they were required, butthey also provided me with the skills necessary to write formally in my career. I have also written professional papers for many of my other classes. Oral Communications: I took this course so that I could develop the skills needed to do professional presentations. Science Courses: I chose to take Everyday Physics my sophomore year because I thought it would be interesting. I am giong to take Everyday Chemistry because I enjoyed this class in high school although it challenged me and I would like to expand my knowledge in Chemistry. I am going to take Introduction to COmputer Programming because I know I will be using computers throughout my career and I think that this course will prove to be beneficial.

Accounting: I chose to major in Accounting because I was good at it and I liked the challenge. I found the courses interesting. One of my dream jobs has always been to work in a bank even though I did not fully understand what that would entail. I think that my success in Accounting courses will help differentiate myself from my competitors in most of the jobs I do. When I talk to employers they are impressed and it also broadens my job opportunities within the bank.

Spring Total:

Social Science: I am taking Economic Foundations because it is required for my major and I feel that it is beneficial to have an understanding of how our economy works. I plan to take General Psychology and Introduction to Sociology because I firmly believe that they will help me be more successful in my communication with others not only within my career, but also in my personal life. Humanitites: I am choosing to take GWST 110 because I am interested in how far women have come and to prepare me for some problems that I may still face. I chose CHIN 101 and PHIL 100 because I felt that these courses would present a challenge. Fine Arts: I am choosing to take Introduction to Theatre because it was the only course that was available for this general education requriement that sounded interseting. Elective courses: I took Introduction to Communication Business through Iowa Western in high school because it taugh me the skills I would need to be efficient with the different Microsoft programs, such as word, and excel. I took Event Planning and Management to develop the skills I would need to organize any kind of event, including my future wedding. I am going to take Spanish so that I can communicate with the growing minority group in the United States. I took Development of a School-Age Child to ensure I didn't want to be a teacher.

Finance and Banking: I chose to add Business as a second major and have a concentration in Financial Decision Making (Finance and Banking) because through internship experiences I am pretty sure that I want to work in a bank. This courses will give me the knowledge and tools that I need to enter the work force and again may put me above my copetitiors when paired with the Accounting major. The Finance and Banking courses will be essential to my success in a banking career. I am hoping that they will also give me a head start on the things I will need to know in order to advance my career and own my own bank. Business Practicum: My first two practicums are with the Tri-Valley Bank in Randolph, IA. I chose this bank because it is small. It presented me the opportunity to see multiple aspects of the bank without much difficulty and it fits the environment that I want to work in. I would also like to do an internship with an Entrepreneur, such as Brown's Shoe Fit in Shenandoah, IA because it would allow me to see the owning and operating aspect of a business. During the Fall of 2015 I would like to start the little league swimming program back up. I would also like to do a final internship at a bank of my choice, with future employment in mind, during the summer of 2016. This internship maybe returning to the Tri-Valley Bank. I also completed Practice with the Pros which allowed develop better interviewing skills.

ACES: These events allowed me to listen to speakers such as Condoleezza Rice and many others. These events also allowed me to experience other cultures and widen my cultural knowledge without leaving campus.
