Anecdote

S Harrison Nyongosa, an African that desperately


wanted an education, decided to apply to a
nearby school. At his interview, he discovered
that it would be at least $100 to pay for
education, supplies, and uniform.
Lack of Education and
Income

S In Africa, roughly 80% are illiterate because of


their lack of education.

S Many Africans cannot afford a proper education


because many people in Kenya do not have jobs
for adequate income.
Level of Education

S Even if Africans can attend school, there is


insufficient information taught, and it takes time
for Africans to learn the basics of literature and
other subjects.

S Because of this and their lack of knowledge, many


students do not make it to secondary schools
(high schools) or universities.
