About MUSE Magazine MUSE Magazine is a semi-annual online and print publication that prides itself on being Queens Universitys creative outlet for all things Fashion, Arts, Entertainment, and Lifestyle. Our mandate is to expose the underground talent found within Queens University, and thereby create a community of creative, like -minded, yet diverse individuals through not only the print issue itself, but also through the online blog, events, and social media. MUSE challenges mainstream ideas and if theres a boundary, Muse has, or will, push it. Always up-tospeed on whats hot at the moment, Muse strives to be the go-to authority for all things creative at Queens. For more information, be sure to check out: www.muse-magazine.com http://issuu.com/musemagazine The Business Team While the Editorial Team focuses on creating content for the magazine, the Business Team does everything else. This includes fundraising, planning events and campaigns, building and maintaining relationships with sponsors and on-campus organizations, and in its most general sense, generating buzz on campus. The Business Team is vital to MUSEs ongoing success in both the short term and into the future. Having been crafted just two years ago, the Business Team is still fairly new, and as such, many growth opportunities exist. That being said, the Business Team is looking for passionate, self-driven, go-getter type individuals who are eager to play a crucial role in taking MUSE Magazine to new heights. Positions: Social Media Marketing Coordinators (x 2) These members will be responsible for managing the online presence of MUSE Magazine by taking leadership over MUSEs Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts. In addition to regularly frequenting blogs and keeping up-to-speed with trends in the social media world, these members will also be responsible for tracking and reporting social media statistics for sponsorship purposes. Coordinators will also work closely with the Online Editor to promote blog posts and run contests/features across all platforms. Feel free to provide examples of your social media voice and any accounts you currently have. Desired Skills: self-motivation, organization, communication, creativity, wittiness, ability to meet tight deadlines, and attention to detail Creative Marketing Coordinators (x 2) These members are responsible for conceptualizing and executing marketing initiatives to continuously build on the MUSE Magazine brand and generate awareness on campus. They will also work closely with the Creative Director and Graphics/Videography Coordinator to co-create videos, graphics and other marketing material as needed. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro or iMovie is an asset. Desired Skills: communication, initiative, planning, creativity, highly organized, and attention to detail Graphics/Videography Coordinator (x 1) This member will be responsible for the creation of all video and graphic needs, working closely with the Marketing team and Creative Director for direction. The coordinator should also be available to cover MUSE events and shoot behind-the-scenes footage (i.e. photo shoots, interviews, etc.). Lastly, this member will be responsible for creating all signage material for events and promotional activities. Please provide samples of your work.

Ad Sales and Sponsorship Coordinators (x 2) These members will take on the responsibility of acquiring new partners and maintaining current relationships. In addition, these members must be able to effectively communicate MUSEs value proposition to prospective advertisers/sponsors and be able to act as a liaison between MUSE and the partner. This position must have a strong sense of initiative and be prepared for independent work. Desired Skills: communication, persistence, strong organization, negotiation, relationship management, and ability to meet deadlines Ad Sales and Sponsorship Director (x 1) This member will be the lead of the Ad Sales and Sponsorship team, and be responsible for ensuring that the team meets all funding goals. Past experience with sponsorship or any other relevant positions ideal. Desired Skills: leadership, communication, highly organized, detailed oriented, relationship management, ability to meet deadlines, and conflict management PR and Community Outreach Coordinator (x 1) This member will be responsible for seeking opportunities for MUSE to collaborate with other committees and clubs on campus. As well, this member will be responsible for garnering awareness with the local Kingston community and seeking opportunities for MUSE to give back. Desired Skills: people oriented, communication, and relationship management Events Coordinator (x 1) This member will be responsible for the planning and logistics related to all MUSE Magazine events. Responsibilities include creating minute-by-minutes for each event, delegating tasks, and ensuring active participation from the executive team. This position will work closely with Marketing for creative direction and act as a liaison between MUSE, venue partners, and event sponsors. As well, this member will be responsible for planning executive socials to ensure team bonding. A Frosh Rep will be assigned to assist this position. Desired Skills: leadership, communication, creative, attention to detail, self-starter, and highly organized Finance Coordinator (x 1) This member will be responsible for allocating and maintaining the budget for the year and individual events, as well as ensuring that all financial records are in order and up to date. This member will also be responsible for all expense record keeping and handling reimbursements. Most importantly, this member will seek out funding opportunities through external organizations, such as grants.
