OBJECTIVES AND EVALUATION OF OBJECTIVES: TSW answer questions about the story with 95% accuracy. (Running Record) TSW read the book with at least 93% accuracy. (Running Record) TSW write 2 sentences about the book Two Crazy Pigs with grade appropriate accuracy. (Writing Prompt)

TSW write with the teacher and compose 3 sentences about the book Two Crazy Pigs with 90% accuracy. (Share the Pen) TSW isolate initial and ending sounds while playing the game with 95% accuracy. (Game)

MATERIALS: Brave Norman book Running Record blank sheet 3-4 pieces of writing paper Colored pens for teacher and student Community guidelines sheet Dizzy Dominoes game Blank running record sheet. Read Aloud book LESSON INTRODUCTION: Just like we do every week we are going to go over our rules for learning and do a fun activity. After we are done I am going to have you reread our book from last week (Brave Norman) for me. I will be writing some things down while you read and then we are going to write some sentences about the story. Next we will play a game Ive put together just for you. When all our work is done we will have a party to celebrate what a great job youve done this semester. THE PLAN: Review Learning Community Guidelines (2 minutes) Read learning community guidelines together. Address anything that may be an issue. Guided Reading Day 2 (20 minutes) o Running Record: (complete running record as the student is reading) Brave Norman Jada, Level I Read, Check for fluency and comprehension PRAISE student for the parts of the reading that went really well. Teaching Point for an area that needs improvement. o Share the Pen: Create at least 2 sentences together about what is wrong with Norman. Focus on capitalization, punctuation, and connecting words. Use a dry erase board or bright colored pens and paper. Once the sentences are written have the student read them aloud. o Writing Prompt: The student is going to write 2 sentences on their own about what Norman does that makes him brave. Make sure the student gives her/his answer verbally before writing. Observe the student and help as needed. Dizzy Dominoes Game: Play Dizzy Dominoes. Read the directions to the student and give them an example of how the game should be played.

CLOSURE: Thank you for working so hard for me today, just like you do every time, and all semester long. After Christmas you will have a new college student to read to and work and I know you will do a great job for them too.
