Perfume

I really don't think this book can be compared to any book written up until now! It is original to the point it can not be described or fully interpreted. If you try to summarize it the book looses its charm so instead of doing that I'll just say that this is the story of a being in search of love, not the romantic one but the one that lasts in eternity the one linked by its own consciousness; Grenouille finds his own heart and soul in his original and seductive work of art: his perfume. And yes this unimaginable perfume exists because of the genius of its creator; and yes like any other masterpiece it is created with madness and sacrifice so the filter of morality is out of question when trying to understand the book. No matter how much we try to interpret it the Perfume remains a very complex and compelling WORK OF ART!
