A. General focus of the plan: A. Aligning instruction with Iowa Core Math using PD 360 as well as a new math series A.2 Development of a SMART goal for my classroom. A.3 Updating my collection of artifacts demonstrating competence in the Iowa Teaching Standards.

B. Specific Goal(s): B.1. Aligning instruction with Iowa Core Math using PD 360 as well as a new math series. Research, develop, and utilize a plan that ensures that all students will receive a score of 79% proficiency in geometry on spring easyCBM testing or other standardized test. B.2 Individual students will achieve a goal of 79% in geometry using EasyCBM math spring assessment. B.3 Update artifacts for standards 1 and 2. Artifacts for standards 7 and 8 are updated annually.

C. Alignment with building and/or district student achievement goals: Decrease the number of non-proficient students in my class by 10% on testing scores, specifically the Number Knowledge test and the reading assessment test. SIAC will approve APR goals. We also have our District Long Range Goals and District Student Learning Goals that have already been approved by board.

D. Description of the plan including timelines: D.1 Aligning instruction with Iowa Core Math using PD 360 as well as a new math series D.2 Work on flat shapes to visualize making new shapes and matching the name of the shape to the actual shape and review this as frequently as possible. (I plan to use Learn360 as a resource to find new ideas and strategies for teaching geometry to my students. I also plan to continue attending technology classes given through AEA services to help build my skills in using my Smartboard and IPads which will increase learning opportunities in the classroom. I will also continue to do more research on my own to find resources online to improve my math curriculum. I am using a different math series and materials to guide my lessons this year. I will combine the strategies laid out by Kathy Richardson and the chosen Math series as resources. I will focus most of our time on number concepts, but will specifically teach geometry more intensely than I have in the past.) D.3 Collect artifacts for standards 5, 6, 7 and 8. Updates will be completed by March 30 of the current school year.
