Banco Terra launches Conta 3+

Banco Terra launched Conta 3+ in Maputo and Nampula on December 1st, 2008. Conta 3+ is the first of
a range of innovative retail products that Banco Terra will introduce in Mozambique.

Conta 3+ is a current account, with total flexibility; access to cheques and debit cards. The difference is
that clients receive an interest up to 10% on their average daily balance. Conta3+ combines a current
account, a savings account and a term deposit into one.

In the words of Banco Terra’s CEO, Maarten Susan: “Banco Terra will be known first and foremost for its
commitment to Agriculture and Rural Banking. However, we also want to be recognized as a bank that
stands for fairness. That means paying clients a decent rate of interest on their deposits, and not limiting
them by unnecessary fees or restrictions. Because of its flexibility, the Conta 3+ account is ideally suited
for both private individuals, as well as small and medium enterprises”.

Banco Terra is a new Mozambican Bank. Its shareholders are Rabobank, KfW, Norfund and GAPI. Banco
Terra intends to offer to a complete range of banking services to retail clients and SME’s and is in
process the opening 15 to 20 agricultural branches in Mozambique’s main cities and corridors.
