Directors Narrative

1. Right at the start of my music video we see a cut a character saying some of the lyrics of the song, Cut You Off. As the beat drops it then cuts into the main part of the song as the beats switches up (00.00 10:20). At the start of the music video I used the Bad TV effect, I choose this effect because I thought it went with my transitions, which was flashing.

2. As we go further into the intro we see quick cuts, which have little black scenes. As this is happening we heard Kendrick Lamar saying Ugh ugh, Ugh ugh Ugh as he is saying this it cuts in time with the lyrics. (12:03 15:20).

3. Once the intro is done and then we see Richard, acting as

Kendrick Lamar in the studio about to put down a verse, we then see flash frames Richard before he gets into his 1st verse. The transitions I used was called bloom, I choose this transition because it fitted the style I was trying to portray to the audience which was a movie styled video however to convey information effectively I had to make it suitable for the video. This effect was picked because I felt as if it dropped well with

the beat and I felt as if the audience knew they were anticipating something.

4. Another transition used once Kendrick Lamar, Richard. Goes into his chorus was a wipe while he hits peoples heads as he is angry due to him not getting anywhere in the music industry and people constantly tell him irrelevant things such as new baby mommas in the neighborhood and recent killings, I chose this exact transition because he was moving across the camera, in and out of the shot, I thought it would be perfect for me to use this as I felt the edit followed on with what Kendrick Lamer (Richard) was doing.
