Shelby McCann 20354 E Lakeshore Bigfork, MT 59801 March 14, 2014 To whom it may concern: I currently am an undergraduate at the

University of Montana. I am majoring in Elementary Education with a concentration in Art. I will graduate with a Bachelors degree in May of 2014. After being a part of the Newhalen School community, I have become interested in the opportunity to work in your district. If accepted I can offer your district: Interpersonal Strengths: My peers describe me as a positive, flexible person who is reliable and who is able to get things done efficiently. My professors have described me as a joy to have in class, due to my contributions to class discussions, and daily preparedness for each course. I take great personal pride in seeing events come together and I have a determination to make things happen. Creativity: My peers seek me out as the individual to add flavor to group projects. I take great joy in incorporating my imagination and expressing my creativity in everyday schoolwork, as well as sharing my passion for art and artistically inspired thoughts. Organizational Skills: As a full time student, operating my own photography business, and volunteering my time in classrooms, Ive learned that organization is the key to success. Additionally I have learned to thrive under pressure and complete items efficiently and in a timely manner. Community Building: Growing up next to the Gros Ventre & Assinoboine Indian Reservation, and attending high school with a student body population of 98% Native American students, my past education experiences have been culturally unique. The opportunity to learn and interact with other cultures is an experience I am thankful to have had and look forward to continuing in my future. Ive taken my educational and personal experiences and learned that keeping an open mind, as well as promoting that openness, allows me to help build communities between diverse groups of people. Thank you for consideration of acceptance into your school district. Sincerely,

Shelby McCann
