Sophia Sheikh

Sophia has been a blessing to have in the classroom this year. From September to May, Sophia has been bright, respectful, hard working, enthusiastic, professional and caring. She works wonderfully with all of my students, having the same caring but firm (when necessary) interaction and encouragement with those with the highest needs to the children with the highest abilities. Her initiative and insight is refreshing and appreciated. One particular time I was highly impressed, I had to step out of the room for a moment to speak with another teacher. The children were on the carpet ready for the lesson. The longer I was away, the louder the students got. Sensing this, Sophia stepped right in, grabbed a book and started reading. This quick thinking is imperative as an educator because one thing you learn is that nothing will stay planned and anything can happen. Sophias work ethic is admirable. Her prompt, consistent arrival each day was focused, cheery, and respectful. She comes in to the classroom and gets right to work. She needs not to be told what to do. While in my class, she worked one-on-one with students, in small group, taught whole-lesson, and c0-taught with me. Each and every time, she was wonderful. If every Ready-Set-Teach intern were like Sophia, I would want 10 per year, EVERY year. What a refreshing and invaluable resource she has been. My Warmest Regards and Deep Appreciation, Toni Beck
