Briana McNeil Fair Use Activity ITEC 7530 March 30, 2012 Philosophy Statement I pledge to learn and

apply my knowledge regarding copyright laws and fair use guidelines so that I may encourage a safe, legal and ethical use of digital technologies inside and outside the classroom. The Importance for Teaching and Learning To act in a professional manner. Protect the work that others have done. Teachers need to know the issues in order to teach their students. It is important to learn and teach how to properly cite material. Helps to keep data secure and fight cheating. Specific Strategies for Instruction I will promote a safe, legal and ethical use of digital technologies that will foster an environment of safe use for the Internet in the classroom. I will also incorporate in the lessons hands on activities where the students will be able to see and learn how to research and use information from websites. I will be sure to teach and implement the importance of Internet safety, copyright laws, and fair use guidelines and also be an example for everyone around me. Online and Print Copyright Resources 1.
