Seattle artist, Carrie Clark, has been wooing crowds with her superb voice and playful rhythms for over a decade. Charming audiences with songs about one night stands, femme fatales and cowboy lullabies, Carrie draws upon classic country, folk, and jazz creating a collision of styles, effects, and textures that can only be described as her very own. Carries fourth independent release, Between the Bed Sheets and Turpentine, features her backing band, the Lonesome Lovers, and production by Seattles, Martin Feveyear (Zoe Muth, The Presidents of the USA, Jesse Sykes). This latest project maintains her infectious energy and boasts the fullest sound and most fully realized arrangements in her catalog yet. What pe op le have s aid: "Clark belts it out like a cabaret singer, but her songs incorporate so many styles of music--tango, jazz, classic country--that calling her a folk songwriter feels like a half-truthWhether she's singing a song that sounds like a number from an obscure forgotten musical or a straightforward folk tune, Clark always sounds just like herself." Drawing on classic country, blues, jazz, and cabaret, she proves as refreshing yet tricky to pin down as Nellie McKay. El To ro , K EXP
