SASRA basis of belief

The basis upon which the work of the Association is carried on is belief in: The supreme authority and sufciency of the Holy Scriptures, as originally given in the Old and New Testaments as being (not merely containing) the Word of God, revealing His will to men: the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead; the love of God to the world; Mans fall and spiritual death; redemption from sin and from the wrath to come only through the Propitiatory Sacrice of the Lord Jesus Christ; justication by faith; the necessity of the direct work of the Holy Spirit to impart and sustain spiritual life; the essential oneness of all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ: and the obligation resting upon all those who name His Name, to afford evidence of their discipleship by a life of obedience to His commands. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh Matthew 24:44

Dear Praying Friends,

This time last year if someone had said to me that I would be SASRA Area Rep for the South East of England and be living in Farnborough, I would have thought it just about as possible as me doing a Bungee jump into the Grand Canyon (It just aint gonna happen). And yet, here I am in the box room of our new home in Farnborough, which has been transformed into my ofce, writing my introductory Prayer Letter as SASRA Area Rep for the South East. Our God is indeed a God of surprises - so watch out!

Please allow me to tell you very briey a little about myself. I am married to Michael and we have moved down from Nottingham for me to take up this position, we see it as a team effort. We have ve sons (all grown up now) our youngest, Joseph, is serving with the Grenadier Guards. Our fourth son, Seth, also served in the same Regiment but came out a few years before Joseph went in. Two sons, Leon and Nathan, live in Leeds; Seth now lives in Glasgow and Darren lives in Australia. Joseph can be found anywhere between Nottingham, Aldershot and Afghanistan! Unfortunately, my diary for 2014 looks a little sorry for itself, however, nil desperandum God is able to direct and prosper the work of our hands as they move along the keyboard, emailing and retrieving information needed to move forward in the task of informing The Body Of Christ about SASRAs amazing evangelistic work among our Soldiers, Airmen and Airwomen. The Battle belongs to the Lord!

So, in conclusion, many thanks to you all in the South East for your continuing support and prayer, which I shall most certainly value, as do all my fellow Area Reps, Scripture Readers and HQ staff. Please feel free to email or call me - I am looking forward to getting to know you. Here are a few reports from our Scripture Readers to encourage you. ASR Lee Philipson, ATR Winchester/Perham Down I got into conversation with four lads in the NAAFI. Two of them of different faiths. However, they still asked me really searching questions. One asked what I do. This gave me a good opportunity to tell them that I was paid to share the Gospel of Christ with the Whosoever. They asked me to elaborate so I told them how I was able to share how Christ had paid the price for all my sins on the cross and that through being convicted of my sin and asking God to forgive me and then accepting Christ into my life as both Lord and Saviour. I knew that I was saved and had a place in Glory. One of the lads asked about a Christening that he had been invited to in the near future. I shared how it was the tradition in some denominations that someone makes a promise on another persons/childs behalf to bring them up in a Godly manner and then, when that person is ready to make the decision for themselves, they can take those vows in a service of conrmation. I told them of a very special time for me when I baptised my eldest daughter in the Baptist Way in the Baptist church in Winchester. I then talked about sin and repentance and how on our own we can never make the grade and that even just looking at a woman in a lustful way is committing adultery. One soldier remarked that the Koran agreed with this. They thanked me for the chat and left.

ASR William Wade, Gutersloh Garrison I was able to share the Gospel at a one-off church service in Fallingbostel, which is approx. 2 hours from Gutersloh. It was well received and, as a result, an open invitation was made for me to return and do another service. I had a non-Christian soldier read a Christian testimony book and, after he had nished reading it, he said that it was so powerful that he wanted me to pass it on to other soldiers too! I feel he is close to the Kingdom. Please pray for our Scripture Readers that they continue to take more ground for the Kingdom and that they are sustained in the battle. Pray too for the Service men and women that they will be receptive to the Gospel. May The Lord Bless you and keep you,

As I was giving out 200 Calenders I came across many ofcers who had never heard of SASRA. I visited all the Headquarters in Bulford and Tidworth: this was a good opportunity for me to share my testimony with many of them. An OC Major in KRH asked me to get in contact with his Padre and went on to say that he would be very pleased if I slotted into their training programmes. I really enjoyed meeting up with those working in the ofces.

For this reason, one of my priorities in moving forward as Area Rep is to encourage SASRA supporters to consider coming together in the formation of more prayer cells/groups within their own fellowships to pray specically for SASRAs ministry. I shall be offering help and encouragement to all my Local reps and SASRA supporters, so please get in touch with me and let me know if you already belong to a praying group or if I can in any way be of help in this area. Dear brothers and sisters, you are The boots on the ground.

ASR Nick Wilson, Salisbury Plain Most of the Regiments at Tidworth had gone on leave. I called in at the Fusilier Guardroom where there were ve extremely bored soldiers in the front room. After general Army banter, they gladly had the Gospel explained through the medium of the Evangecube. I also shared my testimony with them. They asked me many questions. At the end of our chat they all said how I had cheered them up and made their day. A Corporal came out from his ofce and listened in. Afterwards he took my telephone number. Sadly his Mum had died recently.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christs triumphal procession 2 Cor 2:14. We are in the victory parade with Christ leading us on as the captain of the host and, as Scripture portrays, Satan is a defeated foe having been made a public spectacle in the spiritual realm (Col 2:15), where all our battles are ultimately won rst. This teaches me that here on this physical Earth, battles are rst won through prayer and the implementation of our faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6).

On another occasion, I had a good time of sharing with the Royal Engineers at the lunchtime Bible study. We spoke of what it means to take everything to God in prayer. We also spoke of what it means to pray in faith, believing in Gods provision. During this conversation, I shared two personal examples of where I knew of Gods provision. We also discussed what it meant to trust in God for direction and guidance and His will in our lives. I told them how I came to work for SASRA and the trials and tribulations I had experienced before His direction became clear. All in all a very encouraging time was had.
