Applications are invited in the prescribed format for the faculty positions of Undergraduate degree programmes in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Textile Manufacturing, Computer Engineering, Information technology, and also for Physics, Mathematics, Humanities, and Master of Computer Applications in this Institute. Minimum qualifications, experience and scale of pay required for various posts will be as prescribed by AICTE and Govt. of Maharashtra. Reservation of the posts will be as per the Government of Maharashtra norms.

The Persons appointed against this advertisement shall be eligible for the retirement benefits as per the various GRs issued by State Government from time to time. The Institute encourages interaction of faculty with Industry, other research and professional institutions. Consultancy and Testing , conducting continuing education programmes are encouraged, and liberal policies are in place. There is no upper limit on earning through consultancy.

 The closing date for online submission of application is 27th March. 2014, and closing date for submitting hard copy (print out of the application submitted online) is 3rd April, 2014. 1. Reservation of Posts:

Candidates belonging to backward class category must submit Caste Certificate and Caste Validity Certificate issued by Government of Maharashtra authority (Non-Creamy Layer Certificate in case of OBC, NT-1, NT-2, NT-3, VJ, DT and SBC Category candidates) along with their applications. In case the candidate does not have Caste Validity Certificate he/she should submit the same within 6[Six] months of his/her appointment otherwise his/her services will be terminated. For claiming reservation candidates must be domiciled of Maharashtra. The reservation for lady candidates will be as per rules. Reservation for Physically Handicapped candidates will be as per rules.

For appointment to the post reserved for physically handicapped candidate, an applicant must submit a certificate from competent authority, and should possess the prescribed qualification for the post and should have capacity to perform the duties of the post to which he/she is to be appointed

Associate Professor BE/ BTech and ME/ MTech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in BE/BTech or ME/MTech and PhD or equivalent, in appropriate discipline. Post PhD publications and guiding PhD students is highly desirable.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in teaching and/or research and/or Industry of which at least 2 years post PhD experience is desirable.

Professor

Qualification as above that is for the post of a) Minimum of 10 years teaching Associate Professor applicable. and/or research and/or Post PhD publications and guiding PhD student industrial experience of which is highly desirable at least 5 years should be at the level of Associate Professor.

OR Minimum of 13 years' experience in teaching and/or Research and/or Industry. b) In case of research experience, good academic record and books/ research paper publications/ IPR/ patents record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection Committee. If the experience in Industry is considered, the same shall be at managerial level equivalent to Associate Professor with active participation record in devising/ designing, planning, executing, analyzing, quality control, innovating, training, technical books/ research paper publications/ IPR/ patents, etc. as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection committee.

b. For Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Sr No 1 Cadre Prescribed Qualifications Experience

Qualification as above that is for the a) Minimum of 10 years teaching post of Associate Professor applicable. and/or research and/or industrial experience of which at least 5 years Post PhD publications and guiding should be at the level of Associate PhD student is highly desirable Professor.

C. For Science Disciplines (Chemistry/ Physics / Mathematics /Humanities) Sr No 1 Cadre Prescribed Qualifications

Assistant Professor

i] Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on point scale wherever grading system is followed) at Master's Degree level in relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.. ii] Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the national Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

iii] Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clause (i) and (ii) to this Clause, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph. D Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in University/Colleges/Institutions iv] NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

For all the posts the knowledge of higher level of Marathi and Hindi is compulsory.

4. AGE as on the last date of online submission of application, as per Notification Dated 10th
September, 2012 No.[RR-2010/(264/10)/TE-2]): 1. Professors not more than 54 years. 2. Associate Professor not more than 50 years. 3. Assistant Professor not more than 35 years. Relaxation in age limit for the Reserve category candidates will be as per the Govt. of Maharashtra norms INTERVIEW SCHEDULE AND MODE OF SELECTION: F o r t h e P o s t of Assistant Professor candidates should come prepared for a written test. Only those who qualify in the written test will be eligible for interview as per a ratio depending upon the number of posts. For the post of Professor and Associate Professor, presentation is mandatory The details regarding schedule of written test, presentation and interview will be displayed on the web site of the institute and will be communicated suitably. 1. Experience Certificate should clearly mention nature of appointment period of appointment and scale of pay. 2. Experience at a stretch for a period of six months and above will only be considered as a valid experience.

The academic qualification and experience acquired as on last date of submission of application form will be taken into account for determining the eligibility of candidates for the posts and for selecting them for the interview. 4. Appointment order and Relieving order will not be considered in lieu of Experience certificate, and such experience will not be counted.

Applications must be accompanied by Passport size Photograph of the candidate along with photocopies of the relevant documents indicating qualification, age, category, experience etc. and demand draft, failing which the application will be treated as incomplete and liable to be summarily rejected. 6. The candidates who want to apply for more than one post should submit separate applications as well as separate Demand Drafts as mentioned above. 7. Candidates must produce all original certificates at the time of interview.

Candidates belonging to reserved categories must submit one photocopy of their application inclusive of attested copies of caste certificate, caste validity certificate/ non-creamy layer certificate etc. to The Deputy Registrar, Special Cell, Mumbai University, Fort Mumbai 400 032. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending written test, presentation and interview.

No extension of time will be granted to him/her and he/she will not be interviewed, if he/she fails to produce any of the original certificates.
