Describe your educational experience/artifact:

This unit plan !as desi"ned for first "rade students #ein" introduced to different movement concepts and themes$ % !as a#le to choose a theme/sport and also the "rade % !ould #e teachin" the unit in$ Throu"hout the unit % pic&ed a variet' of different activities to pro"ress the students throu"h the unit$ The main focus !ithin movement concepts % chose to focus on !as #od' a!areness( spatial a!areness( )ualities of movements( and relationships in comparison to other students$

% #elieve that this artifact #est ali"ns to standard seven( %nstructional *lannin": the teacher or"ani+es and plans s'stematic instruction #ased upon &no!led"e of su#,ect matter( pupils( the communit'( and curriculum "oals$ This unit plan #est ali"ns !ith standard seven #ecause throu"hout the pro,ect % had to research and come up !ith a variet' of different !a' to &eep the students en"a"ed in the selected unit$ % also !as re)uired to have m' lessons sho! pro"ression throu"hout the unit from the first activit' on da' one to the final activit' on da' seven$ This !as done #' havin" the students start !ith ver' #asic activities such as different ta" "ames and -imon sa's that the' !ould alread' #e familiar !ith$ Then % slo!l' increased the difficult' of the activities over a seven da' period to activities such as .Chic&en on a /ill0 and the /o&e' *o&e'$ %n this unit plan % !as a#le to not onl' create a variet' of lessons that !ould allo! the student to pro"ress throu"h the unit( % !as also a#le to create a variet' of assessment tools to ,ud"e and understand ho! m' students !ere a#le to perform different tas&s in those lessons$ This !ould allo! me to not onl' assess m' student1s a#ilit' and understandin"( #ut also m' o!n presentation and teachin" of the unit$

% #elieve this artifact #est ali"ns !ith 2-D1$c$ -elects %nstructional 3oals$ % feel that this artifact #est fits !ith this 2-D #ecause throu"hout the unit plan % had created "oals for the students at the end of each lesson plan as !ell as the end of the unit for !hat % felt the students should learn or "ain each da'$ Throu"hout the lessons and unit % !ould assess the students and evaluate them as !ell as m'self on !hat !as learned and !hat part of each lesson m' need more time spent on them or possi#l' reintroduced$ % feel that % demonstrated this 2-D throu"hout m' unit plan in m' reflections and assessments at the end of each lesson #ut also the o#,ectives for each da'$ 4' creatin" specific o#,ectives for the students to follo! and allo!in" them to &no! !hat % expected them to learn or do ever' da'( the' !ould #e a#le to understand #etter ho! to perform the dail' tas&s and an'thin" that % ma' as& of them$

After creatin" this artifact % feel that % learned ho! to plan for and or"ani+e a unit plan in an elementar' ph'sical education class and the time 'ou must put into the preparation for each unit$ % also feel that #' creatin" clear and specific o#,ectives for each da' as !ell as havin" proper assessments for each activit' !ill allo! m' students to #etter understand !hat % expect from them each da'( and ho! the' are assessed durin" activit'$ 4' puttin" in the time and effort of creatin" these artifacts % have learned !hat it ta&es to #ecomin" a successful teacher and !ill #e a#le to relate this experience into m' teachin" career$

From this experience % feel that the "reatest &no!led"e % !ill ta&e from this artifact is understandin" ho! to plan and or"ani+e a unit so that m' future students are a#le to pro"ress to!ards an end "oal or #ecome more s&illed at the main tas& in the unit$ This !ill not onl' help m' students "ro! ph'sicall' #ut also help improve m' teachin" and understandin" of ho! each student learns and matures as he or she "ro!s$ %n the past man' times % have #een unor"ani+ed !hen compilin" information and puttin" it all to"ether in a !a' that ever'one understands$ Man' times % !ill understand the flo! #ut !hen % present the information to someone else it #ecomes confusin"$ After completin" this artifact % feel that % am a#le to conve' m' &no!led"e #etter to m' students in a !a' that !ill #est suit them$
