Method Followed In Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, the expenditure method is followed for
calculating GDP.As Bangladesh is a developing
country, we first estimate costs and then we assume
our probable income.Now,our current GDP(09) is
5.419%[IMF-2009 World Economic Outlook]
Continued.
In case of calculating GDP in Bangladesh,
we take into account four expenditure
components namely-
1.Private consumption expenditure
2.Govt. consumption expenditure
3.Gross fixed capital formation
4.Net exports
GDP Consumption By Sector

 Agriculture-19.1%
 Industry-28.6%

 Services-52.3%[est.]

Although expenditure approach is

followed in calculating our GDP,BBS
also calculates GDP in production
method based on value added by
industrial activities).But,we prefer
the expenditure approach as the
best option.
