School of Education Portfolio University of Wisconsin Platteville Artifact Reflection Pre-Student Teaching Time Sheet Pre-Student Teaching Lesson Plan Spring 2014 Spring 2014

Describe your educational experience/artifact:

For my pre-student teaching, I am recording the hours that I am working alongside my cooperating teacher to ensure my involvement and professionalism. Also, I created a lesson plan for my pre-student teaching. It was necessary to be aware of what equipment was available. It was also necessary to find out what specific skills I could teach the students by communicating with my cooperating teacher.
Wisconsin Teacher Standard Alignment

I believe this artifact best aligns with Standard Ten: Collaboration; Teachers are Connected with Other Teachers and the Community. The teacher fosters relationships with school colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community to support pupil learning and well-being and acts with integrity, fairness and in an ethical manner. These artifacts best align with standard ten because developing relationships with parents and staff members is very important for information on each student and in the classroom. I have demonstrated a good working relationship with my cooperating teacher by simply communicating with him on a daily basis. I am prepared well before each lesson I teach. Communication and collaboration are also important with custodians because they will help maintain my gym.

These artifacts best align with this KSD because through prestudent teaching, I am connected to the school. These artifacts demonstrate competency because by attending each session of my pre-student teaching I am showing professionalism. I am able to cooperate and communicate with my students parents and the schools staff members which enables contribution.
Explain what you learned about teaching/learning from this experience: From these experiences I have learned that it is important to build relationships within the school district. Keeping them up to date on many different aspects of the classroom will fully rid of any wonders they have about my classroom. I have also learned that working alongside another can bring in many more ideas to make the most beneficial types of lessons. Explain what you learned about yourself as a prospective educator as a result of this experience/artifact: As a future educator I have learned that it is important to continue to keep parents and staff members involved in what I have planned as an educator. When they are aware what I have planned they are more

eager to get involved and help outside the classroom. Collaborating with my staff and parents will make for the greatest outcomes because of the ideas that can flow from many involved members.
