Different Soil Decontamination Methods on Contaminated Soil Mitigation

Myles Williams
Introduction

Materials

Data Analysis The data collected from this experiment was significant, specifically for Indian Mustard samples, the reason for this is that it was the most effective decontaminator in the previous years research. Other data was inconclusive, such as soil washing samples, due to experimental error. My hypothesis was supported by my data.

Contamination of soil by hazardous substances poses a significant threat to human, environmental, and ecological health (Spriggs, Banks & Schwab, 2005) As our worlds population increases the amount of contaminants that we produce in trying to keep up w/ the needs of the population also increase.

This research can lead to the decontamination of soils, which is a very pressing matter in todays highly polluted world. Contaminated soils affect plants, animals, and humans making it dangerous to eat or drink materials from these areas. Procedures

In conclusion the research conducted in this experiment supported my hypothesis, which was that phytoremediation would be the most successful, efficient, & effective method for soil decontamination. The information found from this research has real world applications, as it can be implemented in contaminated areas today.

Future Research
Future research that could be conducted would be different contamination levels and their effects on soil quality and whether or not they can be mediated. Also using multiple decontamination methods on one soil sample to see if the combined effects can
