Its just fun, isnt it?

Rationale
PDHPE covers a broad range of health areas such as wellbeing, inclusive
of social, mental, physical and spiritual health (Board of Studies NSW, 2007, p.6). These are the foundation of an individuals good health.

Credible research argues that the social, physical, emotional and intellectual
benefits PDHPE when imbedded into our primary school curriculum, extends more than physical and mental benefits . This extends to all other curriculm areas being Mathematics, English, HSIE, and Science.

What is Physical Education?


promotes physical activity and an active lifestyle- Health professionals
stress the importance of an active lifestyle for both short and long term benefits on physical and mental wellbeing;

Includes dance, games and Sports, Gymnastics; Teaches fundamental movement patterns and coordinated actions of
the body;

Encourages skills that enable action for better health and movement
outcomes.

PDHPE Assists in Building life Skills


Communicating: It is important students are able to communicate their needs and wants,
problem solve, listen and respond, negotiate and so on in a variety of situations. responsibility and so on.

heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke and some cancers . For kids it is generally recommended to spend at least 20 minutes a day on physical activity in order to reduce many life style diseases such as:
