Standard Seven | Assessment This artifact is a final assessment paper that is based on using a screening tool, The Early

Screening Inventory-Revised test, to see where my former students development was. It addresses Professional Teaching Standard 7: Assessment, knowledge indicator: G, and performance indicator: A and E. I chose this artifact because it shows my ability to understand how to make data-driven decisions using assessment results and determine student performance levels with appropriate instruction. The artifact demonstrates I can accurately interpret and communicate the students performance results to parents, guardians, or colleagues. This artifact is an appropriate representation of Standard Seven because it exemplifies my ability to interpret the results of a screening I had previously performed on a student named Tommy who was four years old. The artifact is a culmination of my findings as well as my critique of the assessment tool I used. The paper then goes into detail about what I learned about Tommy, and it talks about different levels of performance Tommy has in various areas such as gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and adaptive skills. The paper is an easy way for the teacher, guardian, parent, or colleague to learn about Tom mys abilities, and it is also a good indication for teachers or other specialists to adjust their instruction to meet Tommys needs (G, E). The artifact later states how developmentally advanced, behind, or appropriate Tommy is for his age. This tool gave a good representation of Tommys abilities and showed the teacher that he was on track developmentally. The next step is to take the results and have teachers or other specialists Tommy works with can create appropriate goals and benchmarks for him (A). This artifact demonstrates my growth and development as a teacher because I am now more comfortable using screening assessment tools with my students. I have more confidence and understand the tools better. As a result, I will receive more accurate results, and due to this, I will be able to understand my students strengths and weaknesses to help them grow and develop. Implementing the outcomes into my curriculum will encourage me to teach for the students and direct the curriculum more to my students instead of students in general. Also, learning about the assessments allows me to choose an appropriate assessment tool for specific areas I want to learn more about, and it helps me convey the data and implications of the data to those around me such as parents, guardians, or other colleagues.
