WHA FIRE (Fighting Ignorance and Rape through Education) is a collective of nationallycertified peer educators committed to educating the WMU community about sexual assault, how and why it happens and what we can do to change our culture to prevent it.
Who is FIRE Place for? Survivors of sexual assault Students interested in joining the movement to end violence and discrimination Survivors and witnesses of bias incidents Students interested in research on sexual assault, bias incidents, and discrimination. Academic credit, practicum, and internship credit is available to students with certain academic majors and minors may choose to use their work as a SAPE to fulfill a requirement of their major or minor. This arrangement has been approved by certain departments. Any student with any major may enroll in FCS 590 Special Projects for 1-3 credits and receive credit for SAPE.
