motivational climate: The coach matters. Scandinavian Journal of

This source is credible because it is a peer-reviewed article. In this source the
athletes emphasized the importance of having a coach as the creator of the
climate, as well as their preference for a supportive and caring climate. I will use
this source because it shows the importance of having a coach to the teammates
and how the coaches attitude reflects on the team.

and Common Elements of Expert Coaches. Journal Of Applied Sport
Psychology, 17(3), 179-196.

This source is credible because it is a peer-reviewed article. The purpose of the
study was to determine how university coaches of team sports build successful
programs. The results revealed four elements for developing a successful program
such as possessing personal attributes that led them to display appropriate
leadership behaviors and having organizational skills that followed in games. This

is helpful because as a coach you want a successful career and in order to do so
you need leadership and organizational skills.

This source is credible because it is a journal written by Mike Voight. He was a
player in many sports and played college level sports. He goes to different
workshops to explain the importance of a coach and their responsibilities. He said
that a Coach should utilize to enhance the quality of their players' practices.
These strategies consisted of practicing quality coaching, communication,
practicing at game speed, and giving positive reinforcement when players
do things right. This source is helpful because it explains many coaches
responsibilities and that is what one of my main focuses is on for my paper.

This is a credible source because it is a peer-reviewed article. It shows how
college level coaches are mostly men. Being only four out of ten women are

women sport began to rise the number of women coaches started to decline
because so many men were seeking the job. Many athletic departments are
dominated by males, therefore making it hard for women to be involved. This
source is helpful to me because I want to know why many women are not coaches
at college level athletics.

This is a credible source because it is a peer-reviewed article. It talks about
creative drills, covers basics such as passing, ball handling, and
offensive/defensive transitioning, as well as fun warm-up and end-of-practice
routines. This is helpful because as a coach you need to have effective drills to
coach a team.

This source is credible because it is a peer-reviewed article. In this article Pat
Summit explains her coaching behavior is positive and hustle and instructional,
practices are intense and game like, and she provides players with equitable
amount of feedback. This source is helpful because I will talk how a coach
effectives determines how well the team as a whole can do.

every level from 3rd grade to High School Varsity. This source is helpful because
it talks about the degree that you have to have at a Division 1 school and so on. It
also shows where you can find job openings.

This source is credible because it is an education portal. It one of my most
helpful sources because it gives a step by step process. It gives great advice on
becoming a coach and what you can do to have to best opportunity. It says to start
as an assistant and work your way up to head coach. This is helpful because it
gives so much input and it also displays a table that lays out the main
requirements for becoming a basketball coach.

years of experience as a coach. He explains the importance of having an
assistance coach because they can determine the success and failure of an athletic
program. A coach always needs input when coaching the players.
