Task Summary:
Group Project: Color / Vincent Van Gogh / Impressionism: Instructional Movie Trailer (20 Points, Weeks 6, 7, & 8, Due 10/29) o In this project, you will be divided up into groups of 3 or 4 students to create a Digital Instructional Video to help explain one of the three assigned instructional topics for the units discussed in weeks 6 thru 8. View the online resources provided in the MATERIALS section of the assignment instructions. Each group member will be responsible to play an active part in the instructional video. You will be responsible for completing this assignment, uploading it onto YouTube, and presenting your final project to the class. Be creative and have fun! There will be a rubric provided for the assessment of your final presentation. o At the conclusion of each Element of Art and Artist of Research there will be a written assessment of knowledge gained throughout the instructional process. This will serve as your research assignment for the Color Project. You are required to review and fully understand and retain the important information throughout each assignment.

For the INSTRUCTIONAL MOVIE TRAILER PROJECT, we will be working in steps to create your final project: You will be divided up into small groups of 3 or 4 Your first class period will be to brainstorm and come up with your idea for your groups MOVIE TRAILER. 1. Idea (Format of trailer, Story, Characters, Storyboard, Research) 2. Script Writing / Equal division of character parts 3. Taping of scenes / Special Effects / Green Screen (look closely at iMovie Trailer Creator) Foreground vs. Background 4. Editing (Adding your scenes into iMovie Trailer Creator) 5. Export movie 6. Publish to YouTube 7. Email me at gobel@owosso.k12.mi.us with the corresponding link to your finished movie trailer Make sure you consider the following things when brainstorming: 1. Type of Movie Trailer (Genre?) a. Action, Mystery, Suspense, Horror, Drama, Love Story, Comedy 2. Each group member will need to play a part in your trailer. (Which means that each group will have 3 to 4 characters) 3. What types of characters are you going to have in your trailer? (Character development?) a. Where are you characters from? b. What will your characters be wearing? c. What do your characters sound like? Will there be talking? d. Are they funny or serious?
4. Props you will be using to help tell your story 5. Storyline / Storyboard You can be as creative as you would like, however, please remember that the purpose of this assignment is to teach the audience about the concept of Color, Vincent Van Gogh, and Impressionism. After you have come up with your group idea it is time to start thinking about what types of special effects you are planning to use within your trailer. Grading Policy:
o o All assignments are due by the date listed above in the WEEK COLUMN of the Course Outline Table. Each day that an assignment is late, 10 percent will be deducted from the specific assignment until there are no points left.
Attendance Requirements:
o All students are expected to be in class daily. Students will be awarded 10 points participation per week (2 points per day) for coming to class prepared each day. If a student is absent, the only way to get points back is by doing appropriate observational studies outside of class, demonstrating great effort, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, which includes adding value and shading to the drawing. LIMIT 2 points per approved observational study.
