Students will be practicing journal writing daily throughout this unit. Assessment(s) of the Objectives:

Students will be able to identify and plant seeds.

Accommodations:
I will write down information on the board for students. I will give extra time to students. I will assist students who need extra help in planting seeds. I will allow some students to illustrate in their journals in lieu of writing.

Materials: List all materials needed to implement your lesson; e.g., selected reading(s), video, PowerPoint, etc.
Life cycle PowerPoint, computer, projector, poster-board, straws, pencil, journal, markers

Procedures: Include motivation techniques, grouping, instructional strategies (steps in the lesson), probing questions*,

I will ask students how much they know about growing plants. We will discuss the different size and texture of seeds. We will design a Class poster with different seeds for students to become familiar with daily. We will discuss the different kinds of plants. How different plants will look as they germinate. We will look over and discuss the life cycle of a plant power-point .

7. Then discuss the planting process with students have students discuss what all a plant needs to grow. 8. We will plant different plant seeds in a cup. 9. Students will be responsible for the up keep of the plants growing in the classroom. 10. Students will begin their daily journal of the plant process.

Activity Analysis:
Identify at least two activities you plan to use in this lesson and explain why you are planning these specific activities. In your explanation include the following prompts: Students will plant a watermelon seed and keep a daily journal on the progress of the plant. As a result, students will see the life cycle of a plant first hand. Students will identify several types of seeds in order to promote recognition of the fact that even as seeds, plants have certain characteristics that make them unique.
