In order to prepare for the VPA curriculum review cycle (20142015). We are currently importing and reviewing various standards that could be implemented and imported into ATLAS. While the VPA is a cohesive unit at Lincoln School, it is important to recognize that standards between performing arts, visual arts, and musical arts have unique differences in standards. We are observing the curriculum review cycle and the format other groups are completing their cycle. Music: National Core Music Standards (K8 Standards) Music Application of Standards National Core Coalition of Music Standards (Common Core)

Dont jump the gun with standards. The curriculum review process starts with the team looking (visioning) at broad philosophical ideas behind why and how we teach VPA. The philosophy statement that comes out of this provides the rationale for your choice of standards, as well as your adaptations of these to fit our students, school and mission - all as reflected in your VPA philosophy statement.
