Extension Activity options:

1. Go to http://www.educationscotland.gov.uk/stemcentral/contexts/water/interactive/pollution.as p 2. Match the type of pollution with the source by dragging and dropping the name to the source. 3. In a brief sentence explain how each of the following pollution sources contaminates the water. 4. Hit the next tab and read some of the possible solutions to water cycle. What other solutions do you think could be added? Why do you think it is important to stop water pollution from entering the water cycle? What do you think are some of the possible consequences of pollution entering the water cycle?

Part 2 1. Read the following article http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/us/13water.html 2. Write your congressman an article the importance of creating stronger water pollution laws and enforcing them. Make sure to mention how the water pollution is affecting the water cycle and spreading to pollution to more than one area. 3. Send one copy to your teacher and one to be mailed. (If you type it in google docs we can print it twice)
