Office of Campus Activities Get Involved Team Position Description The Get Involved Team is an initiative that aims to bring together outstanding student leaders from all areas of campus involvement. The 6-8 person team serves as a link connecting prospective, incoming, and current students, and their families with opportunities for involvement. It is important that each member of the Get Involved Team understand the duties and responsibilities of both his/her position as a team member and as an involved student leader. Responsibilities The Get Involved Team consists of students who represent all campus involvement opportunities supported by the Office of Campus Activities. Their purpose is to promote, grow, and educate others about the importance of getting involved on campus. Responsibilities may include: 1. Provide information to prospective and current students, as well as family members/guests at campus events such as SOAR, Preview Days, Opening Weekend, and the First Year Success Series 2. Articulate the benefits of being involved by relating to others on a personal level 3. Assist the Office of Campus Activities in marketing and recruitment efforts as it relates to advertising BGSUs student organizations and student involvement 4. Collaborate with various campus departments and organizations to promote the benefits of getting involved in relation to the retention of students 5. Serve as a student liaison between the Office of Campus Activities and current/prospective students and families Time Commitment Members of the Get Involved Team should be prepared to dedicate approximately 1-2 hours per week through the following: Attend all training sessions and meetings throughout the spring, summer, and fall semesters of 2014, including a mini-retreat and biweekly meetings Participate in Orientation efforts/events, Preview Days, Campus Fest, information tables, residence hall information sessions, and OCA marketing efforts Development of and attendance at any additional Get Involved Team educational or promotional events Assist with other projects as assigned
