Overview of evidence: Toddlers/twos have varied opportunities to experience books, songs, rhymes, and routine games through (d) experiences that help them understand that pictures represent real things in their environment.

While reading the book Max Found Two Sticks, a drumstick was used during the story, showing the children that this story could be a scenario in real life.

Overview of evidence: Children are provided varied opportunities to gain an appreciation of (d) dance in ways that reflect cultural diversity.

The children participate in a variety of dance activities, including ballet, dancing to African drum music, and older music, as well as dancing to folk songs and old nursery rhymes. These reflect cultural diversity as there are different age groups, ethnicities, and dance varieties involved.

Children are provided many different opportunities to explore and manipulate art materials. Above, tempera paint is used on a tree branch covered with colored tape. Below, sourdough is used as a clay substitute for the children to manipulate with different items and shapes.
