Mrs. Fitzpatricks classroom climate is very organizing and filled with interesting science experiments. Mrs. Fitzpatrick has a lot of the science experiments hung on all her cupboards around her classroom that her students made. For example she has: orbits, solar systems, and many others. er room is very well spaced out as well. !he desk arrangement are two tables pushed together to make groups of four in three separate rows. "n every single students desk she has labels in every top right corner labeled #, $, %, and &, and the reason she has labels are for groups. 'he also changes seats every midterm and (uarter so they can meet a variety of all the students and get to know each other better. )n the back of her room she has three separate desks placed between the three lab centers in the back of the room because there are too many students and not enough desks. !he students feel like these are the best seats in the classroom because they can secretly text back here and not get caught. ) had Mrs. Fitzpatrick as a teacher in tenth grade for biology and my class was always texting, but we had bigger desks that you could probably hide anything under and one day in class she asked this male student why he was smiling at his crotch. ) thought that was inappropriate, but kind of funny because its a good way to take phones so they will be ready to learn and not be distracted by using their phones and return at the end of class time. #lso in the front of her room by her desk she has a bulletin board that reminds her of all of her goals she needs to meet by the end of the school year. 'he admitted to me that she gets distracted once in a while and thats why she put that up there. Mrs. Fitzpatrick also has another bulletin board on the opposite side of the whiteboard that describes the scientific method. ) know when she taught my class she had a lot of decorations and posters, saying and describing the

scientific method around her classroom too. #bove her whiteboard, that is in front of the classroom, has six different small posters that say: observation, inferring, hypothesis, explaining, measuring and classifying, which is all ad*ectives that describe science and are very helpful and useful words to remember. 'he also has a planner schedule on her whiteboard in front of the room that has an outline of yellow duct tape around it so students will see its important information and write down to show their parents what they did and what is due. er teachers desk is to the left when you walk in the classroom and kind of hidden in the corner because her wall goes further back. My opinion on her classroom is its very organized, but ) didnt like how its very dull and empty. ) like her desk and seating arrangements, but her walls are *ust plain empty. ) *ust loved her organization skills very well, but she needs to add more creativity around her room. )t was very different than Mrs. +acobsons classroom.

Mrs. Fitzpatricks classroom management is very well on. 'he has the same routines for schedule wise. 'ome of the routines she has is going through five different classes every two days and having two morning classes and one class every other afternoon. !hey all learn the same thing, so its easier for her to teach after having done the same thing every period. Mrs. Fitzpatricks students are very active and involved in her classroom. For example, they do many science labs since she is a science teacher and since they have her for an hour and a half every single day, she gets stuff done and even saves time for at least ten minutes every class period so they can get their homework started if they had any given that day. Mrs. Fitzpatricks classroom expectations are simple. !heres only a few she has which are: sit down and be ready for class to start, be (uiet and listen while someone else is talking and #,-#.' bring your science textbook to class. ) think these expectations are reasonable and easy to follow. !here are conse(uences in her room also that applies to every student which allows any teacher for that matter to sign a planner if they are being bad or a student is not listening. #t the end of each planner is a free pass which has twenty five free passes. !his is how it works, if you get all of those free passes signed, you end up having a study hall in the school lunch cafeteria while the other students that didnt get all those signed, get a fun/free time to do whatever for that hour and a half. ) know from spending a lot of time with her afternoon class, they get those passes signed by her a lot because they are really obnoxious, loud, not listening students. My reflection to her time management must be spent really well considering she has that many classes and is always busy planning ahead. ) remember when ) was in middle school and we had planners but we never had free passes, if we got a conse(uence it was

usually a team time or detention, but luckily ) never got a team time or detention in my whole life. ) think those free passes are very useful and help the students stay determined so they can have fun/free time instead of sitting in the cafeteria while other students are having fun0 ) like how she also keeps with the routines she does everyday with all her classes. ) would be tired of repeating the same information after one class but if you love your students and your *ob you have to do whats best and stay on task. .ou have to give all your students the information even if you have to repeat yourself five times. )ts your *ob that counts. .our students are more important because you want them to go having a good future too.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick has taught multiple ways of learning to meet the needs of different students. "ne of the ways she teaches her students is by demonstrations. 'he is a science teacher, so they do a lot of experiments. !wo examples she did was how to use a microscope and seeing pictures of different ob*ects and a gummy bear lab. 'he had them learn all the parts and take a (uiz over to see if they did improve and it was graded when you passed knowing all the parts, didnt take that long for students to pass. !hey were impressed with all the different pictures of bacteria on different ob*ects they saw. !he other example she showed was a gummy bear lab. )t was to show the growth and bacteria of letting the gummy bear sit in a cup of water for five days and see what would happen. ) was there the last day they observed and it didnt really change, *ust molded. #nd one of the students thought the gummy bear was edible, so they snuck it in their mouth when the teacher wasnt looking and one of the students tattled and that student got in trouble. ) thought that was disgusting. ) remember doing both of these labs in tenth grade is why ) brought them up. #nother way she teaches is step by step process which is allowing some of the students to catch on easier because it helps when she lets them follow her instructions instead of figuring out by themselves. 'he has five different classes with at least one or two different learners in each class that are more challenged and need extra help. For example, those students each have a one on one teacher and are able to get help on tests and (uizzes. #nother way she shows teaching is (uestion and answer process. For example, one of the classroom activities was a lab from measuring ob*ects. !hey then had to record on a graph/chart and compare. #nd there was also short essay (uestions

about this lab and she called on students randomly to give their opinions, so the (uestion and answer process helped. !he only reason she does that is so students learn off of their classmates and overcome a fear of talking in front of everyone if they had. )t was a fun activity that the students really en*oyed and reacted as if they wanted to do it again. My reflection on how Mrs. Fitzpatricks teaching is so every student learns what they need to be learning is very well on, meaning she teaches in more than *ust one way. ) like her creativeness of all the activities she has planned and they best fit with all she needs to be covering. )ve noticed all the labs she has done with her students have been the same labs ) did in tenth grade when she was my biology teacher. 'he definitely meets the criteria of teaching multiple ways to her students0

!he education environments are the same as everybody else. Mrs. Fitzpatrick does have tag students in her classroom, but at the middle school they dont leave class to go to tag, they have a separate class for and hour and a half. # way she teaches is by making students read silently the first time and then makes her students read in a group so they comprehend information better than the first time if they were struggling, and then has them write down two meaningful facts and share with the class so they can have a class discussion. 'he also reviews with her students before tests and (uizzes, so they can do a lot better and have the information fresh in their heads. #nd she also wants to make sure her students are understanding the information well that she goes further into detail whatever they are learning about at the time and will go over it enough so every student understands the concept. Mrs. Fitzpatrick adapts to materials very well. 'he is a science teacher and is always willing to experiment with microscopes, li(uids, and other experiments. )ts always fun trying out a new lab. 'hes always willing to try new things if somethings going wrong or not working. )ve seen my own teachers do that also. Mrs. Fitzpatricks number one thing is supporting #,, of her students. 'he wants to make sure they are happy, safe and learning and having fun all at the same time. 'he has supported her students by letting students come in during her planning period and let them retake a test so they can earn those points back and pass her class. 'he really does truly care about all her students and wants to be there for them all. My reflection on this is that it takes time to deal with exceptional learners and not exceptional learners during one class period. )ts hard and ) do give her full credit for always being open to helping her students in anyway possible. ) remember when she was my teacher and she would

change the middle of her lesson because something was going wrong so she said looks like we arent doing that today, lets do something fun instead. 'he does have all (ualities a teacher can have and does really well communicating and responding to all her students. ) know shes one thats always happy and does care about her students. ) also remember when she gave us study lessons in the morning before school started. 'he was always committed so her students can pass and succeed in life.

Mrs. Fitzpatricks verbal/nonverbal style is very outgoing. 'he communicates well with all her students and always answers all their (uestions in a pleasant way. ) know a few teachers that get irritated with (uestions and answer in a not so friendly way. er lesson plan structure is communicating with the other science teacher across the hall and staying on task with what he is teaching, they always compare notes before they teach. #nother lesson plan structure she does is plan ahead. !here are two different teams for seventh grade and Mrs. Fitzpatricks team had a website for anyone to see and it shows what they are doing in class for whole week. 'he also has a blog online for her students that is called fitz.sci.blogspot.com because she loves making and creating blogs. )t *ust is online assignments and science experiments online so they can get out of the classroom and have more fun. 'he manages her time very well. 'he has fifth and sixth open everyday and seventh and eight every other day, which are planning periods for her. 'he told me she always plans her lesson a week ahead, and you would think with all these opens she would get everything done, but she doesnt, when youre a teacher youre always busy taking care of your students in some way. 'hes always planning a lesson or checking papers, which ) have checked some papers for her and she #,-#.' has to check in a red pen, no other color but red. My reflections on this are shes always busy, but thats what makes her a good teacher. ) remember when she taught at the high school she didnt have that many planning periods to plan ahead1 she had more classes to teach. #nother thing ) remember is she also had the same blog for our science class. ) think its really neat how she blogs for her science class the activities they will be doing in her class, ) also really like how the whole team has a website for the whole week to tell what they

will be doing. )ts very helpful when a student is sick and can check that to get the work done, instead of making the assignment up in class. ) love her enthusiasm towards students, her management and her lesson plan structures. 'he is definitely a teacher ) look up to and will hopefully take after towards my students in the future0
