more with books, and less with scholarly articles. The impression given of a public ethnography is similar to a standard paper. There is an introduction that introduces the setting, characters, and situation. Then there are main points or arguments with explanations. Following those is research, which explains the points. Finally they end with a conclusion. This ethnography type may use visuals, and can be less formal than the other three types. Also public ethnographies have less scholarly input that has been researched. Postmodern Ethnography: Postmodern Ethnography guidelines go against the classical ethnography guidelines. The writer is free to state information in whichever format they please. This type of ethnography is dramatic and has a deep sense of setting. This type intends to put the reader right into the story and pull them in with fluid sentences that compel the reader to keep reading. This type of ethnography appears to be more based on personal experience. Postmodernists work inductively to take the general and narrow topics in as they observe. This ethnography is comparable to autobiography, otherwise known as an autoethnography. Best for My Ethnography: For my ethnography I think postmodern is the best choice. Today, there are several different ways to express your observations and thoughts. Postmodern ethnographies focus less on guidelines and doing it a certain way, and more on having good content and portraying it as best as you can, whatever that way is.
