The Info: With any product that is currently out in the market, the packaging
surrounding the products has become more and more creative. Whether
it is leaving small openings to have a tactile experience with the product,
or showing high resolution graphics on a video game. In this activity we
are going to take a closer look at Product Packaging.
The
Challenge: To create, produce, and illustrate the packaging for a product.
The
Process: o Step 1: Identify who your target audiences are for this product (are
you gearing it towards children, young adults, adults, or senior
citizens). Research the size of your product, as well as any other
factors that should be included into your design.
o Step 2: Draw 10 thumbnails of what your packaging would look
like. Remember that this should not only capture the interest of
the consumer but also be informative! Sizes should be noted, as
well as basic colors as well as vital information about the product.
o Step 3: Draw your final design, make sure all appropriate
information, final colors, and graphics are present.
o Step 4: Create the 3-D packaging prototype out of cardstock or
other materials that would be suitable for our product. Then apply
you’re your drawing from step 3.
