May 1, 2014 To Whom It May Concern, I have been asked to write this letter of recommendation for Morgan McCandless.

It is my pleasure to do so as I have had the privilege of serving as Morgans Cooperating Teacher during her final semester of student teaching at WW Estes Elementary School in Asheville. I believe Morgan is a noteworthy candidate for a teaching position because of her solid teaching skills, extraordinary work ethic, and steadfast commitment to students. Ms. McCandless performed an exceptional job of working with students from a diverse population at our school site and a wide range of learners in our classroom including AIG students, those with learning disabilities, second language learners, and children living in poverty. Morgan was an important part of the classroom community and could be counted on to be respectful and responsible in terms of students academic and social development needs. She carefully considered the Common Core national standards, county-initiated timelines, and individual needs when preparing and presenting curriculum. Ms. McCandless handled difficult situations with great skill and with an understanding of confidentiality required of the education professional. Morgan was always willing to go above and beyond expectations. Therefore it is without hesitation that I recommend Morgan McCandless for an elementary teaching position. I am confident that she will make wonderful contributions to the school fortunate enough to hire her. If I can be of further assistance to comment on her behalf, please do not hesitate to contact me at 760-694-4199. Sincerely,

Nora Nelson Teacher/School Improvement Team Chair Buncombe County Schools
