A Noble Lady

When I was just a little girl

I asked my mother what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich?
This was what she said to me
O my daughter! O my daughter!
You will be pretty
You will be rich
And you will be much more than pretty and rich (inshaAllah)

O my Mother! What more will I be?

This was what she said to me
Let me tell you about a noble lady
Who you must strive to be

She was kind, loving and caring

She enjoyed giving
She was mature and responsible
She was intelligent, persistent in learning

She emigrated with her husband to Habasyah

For none other than Allah
Another big trial afflicted her
Her beloved husband left this world
Leaving her alone with five children

Wishing to compensate for her loss

The beloved of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wassalaam) proposed
She accepted with much thanks to Allah
For bringing her such fine man, the best slave of Allah
She filled the void in his household

When he married other women

She expressed no jealousy
Neither by word nor gesture
When jealousies surfaced between the wives
Two camps emerged quickly
She joined none, avoiding any petty
She remained loyal to her husband
Giving him love and care
Such great love she had for her husband
You surely cannot comprehend, really

She gifted to her husband her nights to one of the wives

Desiring only to please her husband
and to remain his student and companion
He left the world before her
But in the blissful eternal world he will be with her
Her ultimate reward as promised.
May peace and blessings be on the Prophet, his family and his Companions.

"It is not piety, that you turn your faces to the East and to the West. True piety is
this: to believe in God, and the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the Prophets, to
give of one's substance, however cherished, to kinsmen, and orphans, the needy,
the traveller, beggars, and to ransom the slave, to perform the prayer, to pay the
alms. And they who fulfil their covenant when they have engaged in a covenant,
and endure with fortitude misfortune, hardship and peril, these are they who are
true in their faith, these are the truly godfearing." Qur'an Al-Baqarah 2:177

"And those that believe, and do deeds of righteousness -- those are the inhabitants
of Paradise; there they shall dwell forever." Qur'an Al-Baqarah 2:82
